When Warlord Games took over being the exclusive worldwide distributor for Wargames Factory, they greatly expanded their catalog of possible minis to draw from when making games. Well, since Wargames Factory had quite an extensive range of modern military figures, survivors, and zombies, Warlord figured they might as well come up with a game system to go with them. That system is Project Z, a new zombie skirmish game.

Collins Epic Wargames launches Polyversal Kickstarter

Collins Epic Wargames has launched their Kickstarter campaign for Polyversal, their new 6mm sci-fi miniatures game. Well, saying it’s just Collins Epic Wargames is a bit false. I’ve been talking lately about “super groups” of game-makers coming together to create something more (usually in the form of porting games to English). Well, this Kickstarter is a partnership between Collins Epic Wargames and 6 other companies.

Drudge RPG Core Rulebook Now Available

It’s not uncommon to find setting books for RPGs that don’t have a system associated with them. If it’s a Fantasy setting, you can use it with any Fantasy RPG you might be playing. Same with Sci-Fi or Steampunk or whatever. Well, Drudge is the reverse of that. It’s a new system of core RPG rules that doesn’t have a setting associated with it. Want to play a sci-fi game? You can use Drudge. Want a Fantasy game? You can use Drudge. Want a game set entirely within a loaf of bread? You can use Drudge (probably, I guess… but I would like to hear more about this bread-based RPG setting of yours…).

New Details Posted about Marvel Universe Miniatures Game

Well, it would seem, by post clicks from yesterday, that far and away the biggest story of the day was the announcement of the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game by Knight Models. I can’t say that I really disagree. While there were certainly plenty of fine news items coming out, at the risk of editorializing, I’m really excited about the prospects for this one. Well, seems ol’ Knight Models has been talking to a badger about the game. Hendybadger, to be specific. He’s been posting some details about what we can expect in the game.

Infinity 3rd Edition Rulebook in French Available For Pre-orders

I only speak English, as I’d mentioned yesterday. However, I do know a bit if French. I first learned it back in highschool (about 95 years ago, it seems), taking 2 year’s worth. I originally picked French because, at the time, I was sure I was going to be a hockey player and if I had French-Canadian teammates, I’d like to know what they were saying. Well, I never became a hockey player and I never kept up with my French, but for those of you out there that do speak French, you can now pre-order the 3rd Edition Infinity rulebook from Corvus Belli and get a free model, too.

What if the people with the tinfoil hats were telling the truth? Hitler really is being cloned. RPGs really are giving your soul over to Satan. Lizard-people really do run the world. Well, if you were to find out, you’d rush to tell as many other people as you could! The world has to know! That’s just what’s behind Conspiracy, a new board game from Shoot Again Games that’s up on Kickstarter.

Ares Games partners with Pendragon Games to publish English edition of Last Friday

We seem to be getting a lot of announcements lately about a company now producing an English version of some game. That’s not a gripe, mind you. It’s great to get games that otherwise wouldn’t be in English made available to people like me who only speak English (as much as I’ve always meant to learn about… oh… a dozen other languages). This time it’s Ares Games and Pendragon Games that are getting together to bring us the English edition of Last Friday.

Midweek Snippets

Time ever-marches onward! Well… as far as we know, anyway. I guess time could stop for a while and if we were stopped along with it, we’d never really know it’d happened. Unless you were some sort of 4th dimensional being like in Slaughterhouse Five or something, we’d never realize it.
Ok, well, this took a really quick turn to the metaphysical. Not really intended, but there we are, then. Let’s just move on to today’s heaping helping of bite-sized stories before I begin to discuss other laws of physics of which I have a tenuous knowledge grasp on, at best.

In this installment we have: Metal King Studio Posts Thief Episode 1- Concept Art, Model Dads’ Ost-Front 15mm Decals Out Now, Heroines in Sensible Shoes female dungeoneer minis Kickstarter, Khurasan releases Vespulid Queen, MidKnight Heroes Super Chibi Miniature Line Kickstarter now Live, Kickstarter First Look: Granny Grating Armies, Kromlech new release – Morbid Beast Araneaeman, Khurasan releases 28mm scale “Los Viejos”, Lands of Ruin Kickstarter launch is set to 19th of February, and Circle of Chaos: Oldhammer metal miniatures for your warband On Kickstarter.

Tiny Epic Western Board/Card Game Up On Kickstarter

Mount up, men! We’ll head ’em off at the pass!
“Head them off at the pass? I hate that cliche!”
The other day, while getting my new tattoo, we put on Blazing Saddles for something to listen to (besides the buzzing of the tattoo machine). I think the only thing that movie didn’t have that was satire of old Westerns was a game of cards (though there was a game of Chess). Well, Tiny Epic Western from Gamelyn Games does involve games of cards in order for you to take over this one-horse town.

Z-Man Games Announces Haleakala Board Game

While I’m generally one for more mild and temperate climates, and am generally someone who avoids the beach, I’d still like to visit Hawaii. It seems like a very fascinating place, full of plenty of adventure, even away from the sand and surf. Well, while I may never actually get to the island chain, I can live vicariously through games like Haleakala, a new worker-placement game coming from Z-Man Games.

Knight Models Announces Marvel Universe Miniatures Game

As I’ve mentioned before, back when I read comics in the early-mid 90s, I was a Marvel kid. Not that I had anything particularly against DC, I just didn’t read any of their books. It was all X-Men and X-Factor and such that I would get every month. That preference for Marvel has kept up as I’ve gotten older. I’m more excited when I see an announcement about a Marvel property than a DC one. So it’s easy to say that I’m rather excited when I see that Knight Models will be coming out with an all-new miniatures game based on the Marvel Universe.

Warlord Games Posts Beyond the Gates of Antares Extended Interview with Rick Priestley

I always find it interesting when you get to hear a game designer talk about the games that they have worked on. Interviews can really help you get an idea of why a designer put certain aspects into the game that they did, or why they got inspired to make the game to begin with. Perhaps you get a little history into where the game started and you can then see just how far it’s come. Well, Warlord Games has posted up an extended interview with Rick Priestley, designer of Beyond the Gates of Antares.
