Godslayer Wycca Warriors Unveiled by Megalith Games

Megalith Games has some greens up of their new Wycca Warriors for you to check out.

Source

From the preview:

Death-Cultists worship Dhannya in her aspect of Morrigu the Crone – the avenger, cleanser, and guardian of the passage of the dead.

Wycca Warriors form the foot soldiers of the Death-Cult; they are the sons of Morrigu and are so closely tied to her that they are barely classifiable as living at all – poised as they are on the doorstep to the afterlife.

Their dour nature and baleful deeds derive not from malice but from a deep reverence for life, while their most despised enemies are those who defile nature, and the undead which are an abomination against the eternal circle. When the shadow of war looms, the Wycca Warriors form the hard kernel of Tuathan armies.

From the website:

Welcome to Darklight: Memento Mori and to our first developer’s blog!

If this is your first visit, I strongly suggest you go and have look at the Gallery section and check out some of the work done so far, then learn a bit more about the game in the About section

Now, for this first update I am going to say I am glad that after many delays and complications, I have finally got the website up and running, it took a lot of very hard work and preparation to get where the project is at now, and I want to give a massive “thank you” to all of those who helped me for the past year.

I have been creating a prototype of the game for almost a year now, to reflect the looks of what the game will look like once it is complete. The current focus on development is refining the game core mechanics and that means combat, exploration, and monsters behaviours. The game is at a playable stage, and after extensive playtest sessions with friends, I have spotted still a few minor issues which needs ironing as well as some number balancing before I can move on to the next stage.

Freedom: The Underground Railroad Review

Board Game Quest has posted another game review. This one’s for Freedom: The Underground Railroad.

Source

From the review:

As an American, I have a love/hate affair with my country’s history. We’ve done some things we can all be proud of: Kicking some British butt in the revolutionary war, the bill of rights, Batman comics, and the ’85 Chicago Bears (to name a few). But we also have a dark side to our history. One of the first that comes to mind is our history with slavery and the abolitionist movement. It’s hard to believe that there was ever a time where slavery was normal and worth fighting to keep, but we live in different times now, I guess. But this brings us to the theme of our newest review, Freedom: The Underground Railroad. For those not familiar with American history, the Underground Railroad was a system for helping slaves escape their life of bondage to the freedom in the North.

Battlefront features Heavy Rocket Mortar Battery

Battlefront is showing off their upcoming Heavy Rocket Mortar Battery for the Desperate Measures expansion for Flames of War.

Source

From the article:

Following on from the success of the BM-13-16 Katyusha during the close of 1941, the need for a larger rocket quickly became apparent. The response to this demand was the BM-31-12. Following the standard Soviet naming convention, BM stood for ground vehicle; 31 for the rocket type / model used and the 12 for the number of rails or tubes.

The rocket was developed from an earlier design, the M30. However, the request for a longer range weapon led to the design of the M31 which had a maximum range of 4325 metres compared to the 2800 metres of the M30. This payload was delivered from a metal framework mounted on the chassis of a Studebaker US6 truck.

Each rocket was armed with a 28.9kg warhead and when combined on mass, the BM-31-12 proved extremely effective during the closing stages of the war in particular during the fierce street fighting during the Battle of Berlin.
