  • Warlord Games announce new releases

Warlord Games have announced several new 28mm Ancient releases.

    From their announcement:

You’ll be pleased to know that I’ll be keeping my text to a minimum due to writing this behind Mrs Sawyer’s back (I’m supposed to be on holiday) so let’s get to business…

This week’s new releases are Imperial Roman Officers which can be used as a Tribune or a Legate. The pack contains one foot and one mounted Officer. Next up is our Celtic Cavalry regiment. Built using a sprue of Celtic Warrior plastics, metal horses with integral riders’ legs and a handful of resin components these swift, ferocious fellows have supreme posability.

Right, better head out before I’m subjected to an involuntary vasectomy…

The more I’ve seen from Warlord the more I think I’m going to have to jump in and leave my previous misgivings behind.

I love the Celts (despite the painting fear of another horde army going into my lead and plastic mountain). And the Romans have just the right amount of Hollywood to appeal to my none-grognard brain.

But which system to go for Warhammer Historical or Fields of Glory?

    Erik Engling says:

I’m going down the road of WAB 1.5 as I think the Warlord line is marrying up well with the unit selections. I’ve been told that FOG does better for 15mm but have not given the game a try.

    All the best,

    Erik
