Empress preview Zulus
Empress Miniatures have posted photos of their new 28mm Zulu miniatures on their Workbench page.
From their website:
The first packs will be 8 married and 8 unmarried warriors. The majority are open handed so that they can carry various weapons and shields which will be included in every pack. Shields used were of both the older large size as well as the more modern fighting shields. Firearms were very common due to a pre war policy of trading for muskets. These trade muskets were predominantly of the flintlock and percussion variety. Martini Henry’s were very rare and theories suggesting that the units at Rorke’s Drift carried them after looting the British bodies at Isandlwana are illogical as the units had missed the action. As the war progressed and more defeats were inflicted upon Lord Chelmsford army the Martini Henry became more available.
