    Ask TGN

    LarkinVain asks:

With GenCon a little over 2 weeks away, I’m interested to know what exclusives and goodies will be available this year.

TGN has a lot of readers who are also belong to various miniatures companies. Maybe they can let us know what specials they are promoting this year.

    Darkson says:

Get in a game with the Darkson Crew and you get a free Gen Con Indy miniature.

WizKids has the Sinestro Corps Anti-Monitor and the Knightfall Batman:

If you play 5 games of Monsterpocalypse, you get a LE figure:
    http://registration.gencon.com/indy/eventview.cgi?ew=events10&eid=4030
“You can participate in as many or as few of the approximately hour-long matches as you like during this all-day event. Players who participate in five or more games walk away with a limited edition model!”

    Zac says:

Pulp City will also have a convention specific Supreme at GenCon.

Kraken Editions will, I hope, have some Con exlcusive figs available as well.

    SkeletonKey Ed says:

Ed from SkeletonKey Games will let you buy him a beer if you see him at the RAM.

    Bobby (Privateer Press) says:

Actually, make that “participate in 2 games of Monsterpocalypse and get the LE figure.” sorry for the mix-up

You’ll get a rare Limited Edition “Sober SkeletonKey Ed” to adorn your mantle piece. :-)

    LarkinVain (Joel) says:

Thanks for the info. Nice find on the Heroscape one. I’m also interested in pre-release as well. Here’s what I know.

Pulp City - Mourn, Chimp and Sentry Bots will be pre-released

Privateer Press - Monsterpoclaypse will have a limited pre-release of starters and boosters.

Aberrant Games - Rezolution Ronin Brawler and Vatacina Pistol Fencer and possibly premiere Warlands (formerly known as Saga) as noted in Data Dump #4

Wyrd - Will have some advance demos of Malifaux and if you come by their booth wearing a Wyrd shirt they will give you a free miniature.

At the Gorilla Games booth, Battlestations! v1.1 has been released this year.

Also, Higher Ground Games is releasing a first run of finished 3D cavern sets that are compatible with Fantasy Flight’s Descent board game.

Whoo-hoo! I’ll be snaggin’ me two LEs then (possibly three if I add an extra game)…

    Keirof says:

Does anyone know if Zuzzy will be there? I’d love to pick up one of their terrain mats…

    LarkinVain (Joel) says:

Cool I bought 5 Monsterpocalypse events just for the LE. Looks like I will be getting 2 :)

    Breten says:

It has been confirmed that Kraken will have the LE con figures at the show. Rumour has it if you beat a Kraken team member during a demo, you get a fig. But they will have them there and there will be ways to obtain them.

I can’t make it to Gencon (I’m in the UK) but if someone ends up with an extra Monsterpocalypse LE mini that they don’t need I’d love to give it a home ;-D

I’m going to try to snag a few for the GenCon swag giveaway

    LarkinVain (Joel) says:

Ah yeah… looking forward to all the swag from the con.

    bj says:

Dark Age Game’s Saint Johann LE miniature will be available for purchase at the Warstore Booth at Gencon.

    LarkinVain (Joel) says:

Will DA have a booth as well? I don’t see it on the current GenCon floor plan.

    LarkinVain (Joel) says:

Wyrd Miniatures will have the following as convention releases.

Convict Gunslinger (one with the pistols - sculpted by Steve Buddle)
Silurids (three of them, sculpted by Paul Muller)
Fire Base and Accessories (sculpted by Steve Saunders)
The Hag (sculpted by Paul Muller)

    Xenon_Wulf says:

I really hope some of these offers will be available after the dealer room closes, as I’ll be stuck at the Asmodee booth all Gencon long running demos…

    Darkson says:

Xenon Let me know what you want and I will make some rounds for you. ;)

    Xenon_Wulf says:

To be honest it’s not so much the offer as much as a chance to to try a demo of the games in most cases.

I’d like to try Pulp City, AE-WWII, the Wyrd game, and Monsterpocalypse. There are enough other cons during the year for me to try out pretty much any new shiny boardgame or rpg and see if I like them, but to me, Gencon’s when I get to try out minis games I don’t get to see in my home town (and maybe get to bring them back home!).

Actually Warlands and Saga are not one in the same. Warlands will be a “small scale” near-future skirmish game whereas as Saga (will be renamed) is a “larger scale” fantasy skirmish game.

WARLANDS: In the future, the only way to get gasoline is with a gun…

    Breten says:

Dark Age won’t be having a booth this year. Their caster fell ill and won’t be at GenCon, and since they won’t have stock themselves, they felt it wouldn’t be worth it.

As mentioned above they have made arrangements with Neal at the Warstore who will have the full line as well as the LE Johann singly or in a box set.

They will still be running demos and events.

    mathieu says:

According to Joss from Kraken, they will have the whole range (Alkemy+ArteFactory) in English, and if you buy a starter + wave 2 + wave 3, you’ll get the special edition of the army you bought. He didn’t mention anything about the beating them bit, but that might still happen.

    Breten says:

That’s rumours for ya.;) Hopefully I’ll still be able to snag them for mine since I already own waves 1 & 2. And since I’ll be working the TTG demos for Alkemy.

    Morf says:

As Zac has mentioned, we’ll have a limited number of resin casts of our special AE-WWII/Pulp City cross-over Golden Age Villain.
I think all weird war players might be interested!
Great to hear about Alkemy - I’ll definitely go and grab some.

    LarkinVain (Joel) says:

Can’t wait for that one. I’ll definitely stand in line for that.

    steeldragon says:

I checked the Events I’ve booked and that includes “AE-WWII: Occultists of the Eastern Front” and “Pulp City: The Battle for Pulp City”… if you tell me I will get a mini for that I will do my happy dance…

    bj says:

Dark Age will be at Gencon, we will be running various demo tournaments, two X’treme tournaments and other special events. The Warstore will be carrying the full Dark Age line in addition to the Saint Johann LE in limited quantities.

Our normal caster falling ill did not affect this, it did affect our releases..

    LarkinVain (Joel) says:

Awe sorry to hear that. I’ll be sure to stop by to pick up Johann.

    Breten says:

Apologies. I thought that was mentioned on the forum, though I’m likely mixing things up.
