  • New Warmachine and Hordes previews

Privateer Press has posted three new previews of upcoming Warmachine and Hordes miniatures.

    Anastasia di Bray
The master spy Anastasia di Bray fights the Khadoran occupiers of Llael and their collaborators with a fury fueled by loss. Traitors and the invasion took everyone she loved, and now she aids the Resistance in a war that is as much personal as patriotic. The information she steals can spell the doom of armies, and any who would interfere with her missions die silent deaths on her blades.

    Stannis Brocker
Stannis Brocker cares for little beyond coin and battle. He is utterly disinterested the reasons behind any specific conflict and makes no apology for decades spent dealing death and misfortune. Commanding ranks of Steelhead mercenaries, Brocker rides to battle as if from an ancient era, when such men conquered and created nations with the edge of their blades.

    Kaya the Moonhunter and Laris
Once Kaya relied solely on her instincts. Now she has been initiated into ancient rites that reveal the power the moon exert on the blood of all predators. Her command of these mysteries has brought her a new companion in the form of a ghostly white wolf. This inseparable pair stalks the battlefields of Immoren with spell, spear, and fang to bring low the foes of the Circle Orboros.

Individual photos of Kaya and Laris are also available.

gah. i’v had such high hopes for what’s essentialy my favourite caster in the game. if anything Kaya looks worse than the basic model-the extent of her “epicness” is weapon switch and face that looks more pudgy than the orginal one(she’s been hitting the doughnuts of orboros stash?:D). the wolf resambles a boar if anything, way too stocky.

stannis is really nice model, 2hander held high on a horseback may be a bit silly, but whole WM is a bit silly like that:D

Anastasia is just good. not specatcular, but not bad either.

Stannis is planning on playing polo with peoples heads

    Trent McCaffrey says:

Anastasia is a refreshing change from Privateer’s usually chunky models. She looks subdued and realistic.

eKaya…sigh. There are so many Matrix-y poses that could have been used, but that one is really just an alternate sculpt. Nothing is screaming BUY ME I’M EPIC. I’m going to use a spare regular Kaya and throw on a fancy base.

Laris…I’ve never been big on armour on the Circle beasts, but I guess they need something to identify them. I think a glowing brand would be more fitting. It’s not like the Circle cares about cruelty…they seem to operate on no pain no gain! :)

I for one like this new Kaya much better than the old one. It seems to me that the face is better detailed, but I could be misled by the poor picture (Is it me or this whole batch of previews is presented with sub par photographs?).

I like the pose and the sculpt of Stannis, but as per usual I’m unimpressed by the horse. And finally Anastasia looks pretty good, much skinnier than the usual women from PP as Trent mentioned. I can’t see anything on the 360 though, apparently someone got a little excited with the contrast settings.

    briguy says:

Anastasia does look pretty cool. I’d have to agree with the consensus, there is nothing wrong with Kaya, but there is nothing new nor inspiring about her either.

For Stannis, he looks pretty cool actually, and PP have finally put out a horse that is not falling over its own feet for a change. :-)

    a_thousand_hats says:

I think the Stannis mini is my fave (despite being an Orboros fan - without any minis yet).

The paint job on Stannis is really cool too - very well executed.

    Malazan says:

Anastasia is by far the best model of the lot. As Trent McCaffrey said, nice and understated.

Stannis, meh, another big brawny dude on a horse.

Kaya, awful mini, should be resculpted. Horrible pose, just looks rubbish.

    Morf says:

Stannis is a great miniature imo, balanced and yet very bulky, more than a nice surprise to me.
Kaya… what’s epic about her? Haven’t figured it out yet. Oh, she got more armor from the Oroboros treasury. The wolf has a nice snout and then - wait, is it canine at all? Unless it had a gorax daddy, it is way too bulky.
