  • WWG ExteriorWorks: Hinterland released

World Works Games have announced that their ExteriorWorks: Hinterland terrain set is now available for purchase.

    From their announcement:

Ever been told to “Take it outside”? Well now you can… without ever leaving the room. World Works Games proudly presents Exteriorworks: Hinterland.

Now you can run those outdoor encounters with style and ease. Hinterland’s choice of simple or complex trees means you decide how much work you want to put into your scenery and still get great looking results no matter what you choose. From goblin infested woods to secret rebel raids on sanctuary moons, Hinterland’s got what you need.

Keep your feet on the road or skip through the fields. Dip your toes in the clear blue streams or set up a campsite near the waterfall. Whatever your outdoor tile needs, Hinterland has it covered and all in gridless, 1″, 1.5″ and 1″ hex formats.

Get off the ground and go vertical with Hinterland’s cliffs. Four different heights allow for a stepping-stone layout or use the natural “staircases” to cover heights more easily. Step lightly across rickity wooden bridges or crumbling paths of stone. Or nurture your inner-child and climb a tree that will actually hold minis.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time for a breath of fresh air.

    Exteriorworks: Hinterland contains the following:

    • Three different “plain” tiles
    • Campsite tile
    • River-crossing tile
    • Dirt road tiles
    • Stream tiles
    • Clifftop tile

Simple trees in five different styles

    • Complex trees in six different styles
    • Tree-arch
    • 6″ high Tree wall
    • Hedges
    • Shrubbery.
    • Swappable root inserts for stumps and chopped trees
    • Hills
    • Boulders
    • Big, Giant Ruined Head.
    • Waterfalls
    • Stone bridges in 6″ and 9″ lengths

And as always, fully photographed, step-by-step instructions to guide you through the assembly process.

    1. This set looks excellent - the WWG guys really are fantastic artists.

I can see this being very useful for games that are played in a small area like the Rattrap games (& RPGS).

I agree - for cardstock terrain this stuff looks awesome.

    3. evernevermore (John) says:

Now if I just had a printer up to this kind of work

    4. grimbergen says:

Wish they would have made a grid version also…much needed for CMGs.

      oh well.

very nostalgic, reminds of low-poly old skool 3d games where trees and other terrain accoutrements were 2d sprites. I guess I am getting old as the charm of that still makes me happy.
