Actually I do wear knee pads that low, they don't "drop down" that easily from that position and provide better protection when you kneel.

Nice sculpts - if I had the extra money for a new game the Ardiana would probably drag me in

Luckily 40k and 4e D&D have sucked up what little money I have already :P

you do wear kneepads lower than the knee and it does look odd in real life.

the "problem" though is perception: the customer sees them as looking too far down the leg and it makes them perceive that the knees are therefore also too low down.

having got used to that i really dont see as having an issue at all - i also suspect that the sculptor took a lot of RL references so they are deliberately placed as they are; rather than it being a case of dubious body measurements.

So, nice figures as almost always ;-)

I don't even play infinty and I am already bugeting away some money for the knights of Santiago. The pose and the form of it looks great. Love the way they blend the sci fi with the knight feel at the same time.

It didn't even occur to me to consult the rulebook, for some reason. I hadn't read the Ariadna portion yet. I'll make sure to do that! Thanks!

according to the background, the people that colonized ariadna were from USA, Russia, France and Scotland. so after the arrival and being cut off, they established USAriadna, Matr(or Matyr), Merovingia and Caledonia states, later merged into single federation of a sort. so yes, merovingians are french descendants. the orginal book has some more merov. troops if you'r intrested;)

As an adjective, what does Merovingian mean? Does that imply they are french (building on the multicultural aspect of Adriana? Would a Merovingian identify with a particular part of France?) Does it mean that they indulge in ceaseless infighting? Are they ordained warriors of God?

I don't see the new Vetran or the Highlander?

I'm going to have to eat my words too, the Kazaks look good, aside from the clothes on the girl.

I love that Hassasin. Definite buy, when I finally clear my Infinity backlog, that is.

possibly, but Kazak 2 model still looks like it's bending it's leg at far too low place, pads or no pads.
but then, i play Panoceania, and the Knight is so great i may let this inconsistency in another army slide this time:D(or it's one of those times when you need to see the models first-hand)

I admit the kneepads on the Kazaks looked a little strange to me as well... However, once I saw this image, things made a little more sense... It looks like tactical kneepads are worn lower than sports kneepads.

all the models are really spectacular, the Knight really is great..but the back-shots leave no doubt...all the kazaks have knees way too low on the model><
