By the way, the Franco-Prussian War painting guides on-line are some of the best and are superior to the confusion that is in the Ospreys. Peter is top notch!

briguy - That is the direction I am leaning also. I plan on buying into the Warmaster Ancients and was debating between 6mm and 10mm. However, I think it will be 6mm because of Baccus and the excellent minis and service they provide.

I agree. Baccus was a big part of what got me into Warmaster Ancients, a game I thoroughly enjoy. The figs just look way too cool when all ranked up, and they are very well sculpted.

The Baccus minis are fantastic and I love the fact you can get everything in one location from the flags to terrain. I plan on purchasing this Franco-Prussian war sets this summer and getting into it full force. The Polemos rules seem quite good.

One thing I may do is to base the Prussians in columns on the 60mm stand versus the French in lines. My reading of Howard's books and others is that the Prussians launched charge after charge in columnar formations since their Needleguns didn't have the range. Could look real nice on the tabletop!
