The more I look at the minis for infinity the more I think I might have to give them a try - what would be a good way to start into this game? (And are they 28/32mm compatible with GWs minis size for mix and matching in other games). |

They are a bit smaller than GW, and more in a true human style than 40k miniatures. The faction starter boxes are the best thing to loo into first. If your looing at Yu Jing, mae sure you look for the new starter instead of the older one. |

They are a bit smaller than GW, and more in a true human style than 40k miniatures. A bit more like Hasslefree then, that’s cool - thanks for letting me know. I like the look of different minis from each of the factions, they’d fit so well into a little project I’m working on at the moment even if i didn’t play the actual game. I can see I’m going to spend ages deciding on which ones to go for. I’ll have to see if anyone has any at the UK Games Expo this month - I’m taking a trip down to that to have browse and try to catch a few demos. |

Simple Miniature Games (a UK distributor for Infinity) will be there. In addition to sales they’re supposed to have a couple of people running demos too. |

Not a fan of the Foxtrot, but then I don’t like most Ariadna. Lizard is good, interesting mini. Guilang is alright but nothing special. Saito Togan looks a bit weird in 2D but I’m sure it looks better in person. |

I guess I’m the only one not fond of the Lizard. I think it’s just the pose, though. |

“They are a bit smaller than GW” No, they’re not. They’re more slender, but taller, usually by a few mm. If they were both standing straight next to each other, the difference would be even more noticeable - but due to posing, they’re not enormously different…for the most part. Hasslefree, however, is even smaller than GW so the Hasslefree/Infinity difference will be even more noticeable, especially in proportion. Hasslefree tend to look like teenagers next to Infinity. Check here for some side-by-side comparisons. As for the minis themselves, Lizard good, Guilang is neat but I’m more of a ‘grunt’ guy, the Ariadna is fine for a diorama, same for Saito Togan. Then again, I’m a ‘tactical pose’ fanatic. ;) |

@noah - Im not seeing what you mean on the wee toysoldiers examples. A general description of Hasslefree figs is hard because so many of the figures are of intentionally different heights. Just from comparing blisters in LGS Infinity looks to be around the same height as your standard Imperial figure, the big difference is the proportions, as they are much more realistic then the wonky 40k proportions. The proportions are on par with AE-WW2 and Hasslefree, except Hasslefree female figures tend to either be chubby and curvy or thin and a little on the short side. Short of it - no Infinity wont automatically scale with 40k, though if you stick with just the powered armor Infinity figs (stuff like ORC troops and Shang Ji) they would work as carapace armored humans, or maybe Tau Auxiliaries. Best bet is to take a GW fig with you and compare in the store - or if you cant find them in a brick and mortar store your gonna have to start asking people for pics and suggestions |

@evernevermore (John) - You’ve got to scroll down for a bit, the comparisons are near the bottom third. And I should have been more clear - I’ve found that Infinity is larger, not smaller, than GW, which is larger than Hasslefree. All true about the proportions, though! Most of my stuff is GW, but there’s a healthy amount of Copplestone and others in there. I really like (most) of the Infinity stuff and the rules, though, so they’re going to make an appearance on the table alongside or opposite my ‘chunkier’ figs. (How do I justify this? Well, that’s easy! PanOceania, Yu Jing and the others are the ‘first world’ and client states - they’ve got the genetic engineering and super-nutrition that makes everyone tall and attractive…) |

I think Saito appears to be preparing for a Sumo match. The Lizard is really cool, but just like the PanOc Squalo it’s begging to be reposed. |
