All of the current main fluff is written from an Imperium viewpoint, therefore they are always in the right. Of course the race codices are written from their own viewpoint, but the main rulebook fluff is very Imperium-centric. As for the humour in the RT rulebook, there is not a smattering of that in any of the 40K rulebooks since the RT one, and the setting is the less for its loss. What a great project. Given that the rumours say the plastic termies in the new 40k box will not have heavy weapons, I think converting will be the way to go. For an assault cannon, I'm thinking of removing the storm bolter barrels and putting in three brass or plastic tubes with a triangle shaped plastic-card piece. Must admit, I always have and still do have a soft spot for the termy models, except for the ones in the 1st edition Space Hulk game, which i replaced for lead back in the day.
