I was looking at the boxed set load out and that was pretty impressive with all the stuff that you get.

    Zac says:

If it is true then it will be a really good deal

I’m sure people will be buying and splitting them on eBay. It’s a pity the rulebook it comes with won’t be complete. I’ll definitely be watching for terminators on eBay. I’ve always wanted an army of them (not that I play 40k much, but terminators are just cool).

    Zac says:

I have over 100 terminators now and I always want to have more :-)

I hope the rulebook included isn’t a reduce version as I really liked the mini rulebooks for 40K, WFB and FoW.

100 Termies Zac, egad’s what do you do with them all?

Monster game of Space Hulk perhaps, Blood Angels 1st Company against the fiendish alien Genestealer menace.

Must admit, I always have and still do have a soft spot for the termy models, except for the ones in the 1st edition Space Hulk game, which i replaced for lead back in the day.

As for the cut down rulebook, why miss the current fluff, its not even as good as it was. Gone is the humour that still makes me grin in the Rogue Trader book. And the fact that the Imperium is not always right.

About the rule book - most people on Bell of Lost Souls agree that the sheer minis packed into the set make it worth getting even with a crippled book

    wolfgangbrooks says:

Heh, what humor in the RT book? And since when is the Imperium always right? They’ve always been represented as evil nazi bastards, but in a universe where they’re the good guys by comparison.

I’ll be interested to see what the new rules are like, but what’ll make me buy the set is not how much of a deal they can make me, it’s if I can find someone to play against.

A full Deathwing. Its my summer project for next year.

    nathan says:

Full Deathwing is awesome. What a great project.

Given that the rumours say the plastic termies in the new 40k box will not have heavy weapons, I think converting will be the way to go.

For an assault cannon, I’m thinking of removing the storm bolter barrels and putting in three brass or plastic tubes with a triangle shaped plastic-card piece. Like the GUA-19 in this video:

Nice one Zac and a lot of white paint, to be sure!

All of the current main fluff is written from an Imperium viewpoint, therefore they are always in the right.

Of course the race codices are written from their own viewpoint, but the main rulebook fluff is very Imperium-centric.

As for the humour in the RT rulebook, there is not a smattering of that in any of the 40K rulebooks since the RT one, and the setting is the less for its loss. Its just another sign of 40K taking itself way to seriously LOL!
