  • Heavy Gear previews

Dream Pod 9 have posted photos of several upcoming new miniatures.

    From their website:

Phil has finished up the new Coyote Strider (includes parts to make either the walker or tank mode) and the Hoplite APC for Peace River. Along with the new Cheetah Paratrooper for the North and the new Iguana Paratrooper for the South.

I really like that Coyote Strider. Very cool.

I’ve been on the edge of getting into heavy gear for the last 10 years. I finally decided to give it a go and preordered their Locked & Loaded rules. Gear Krieg was awesome and generally DP9 make really solid rules.

Man, that Coyote strider reminds me so much of a Transformer, especially with its multiple configurations.

With the right application of 1/32″ rare earth magnets, I wonder if I can make it transformable…

I love the Coyote but the Hoplite seems just a tad bit…meh.

    nathan says:

Yeah, the Hoplite is alright, but nothing special. I’d probably get a CAV one from Reaper instead. Or one of Combat Wombat’s 15mm line. It’d probably mix fine with the 1/144 HG stuff.

    nathan says:

Another option would be Dragon’s Can-Do 1/144 armour series. You can get an M113 that would work well as an APC. As well as Bradley fighting vehicles and other modern and WW2 tanks.
