  • Litko corrected online international shipping error

Litko Aerosystems have announced that they have corrected a problem with their online ordering system not offering the correct shipping options.

    From their announcement:

We wanted to let our international customers know that if they have tried to place an order with us in the past two days they may have gotten an inflated shipping price. Our store was only offering Priority Mail International and not (the more affordable) First Class Mail International.

If you have placed an order, you can possibly get it corrected by us (depends on if it qualifies for the lower shipping rate… it must be under 4 lbs). The lower shipping rate is more affordable, but will result in taking longer to get to you. We’ve found that most customers prefer the lower shipping rate to faster shipping..

If you want to place an order but are turned off by of the shipping price, you can still place it and we can correct it… just send a follow-up email to orders@litkoaero.com and ask to “Please see if my order qualifies for a lower shipping rate”. Please reference your order number
    Background

Rather than a simple percentage-based international shipping rate, we charge the USPS rate plus a handling fee.

We offer Priority Mail International (PCM) and First Class Mail International (FCM). The US Postal Service recently decided (with the 5/12/2008 rate change) to alter the way that their shipping-price servers report the FCM rate to software such as ours.

So… we are left with offering PCM online, but not FCM for the time being.
