I wouldn't mind it either. I haven't heard this being a main debate anywhere but these new plastic releases are brilliant because of the details and the familiar plastic bulkiness and lack of grace. Skellies and daemons are fine examples.

No news on whether it’s plastic, but it’s said to be way better than the current one.

Hardly difficult. The last one looked as if it was just waking up from a long nap. It was sad that the Warmaster Hydra was much more dynamic and had a better pose than the Warhammer figure.

I realize that corsair is synonymous with pirate, and I know what the Dark Elf navy gets up to (I have a MoW DE fleet and everything). It just seems odd to me that a DE would refer to himself as the "Dread Pirate." I realize that personal taste enters into it, and you might not find such a title corny in the least. Hopefully the rumors of Lokhir having a squid face a la that joker in the most recent pirates movie will be untrue.

@Zac, that would be cool (especially if they went so far as to have subfactional lists), but I believe the most recent army book is the only one in which they haven't been called Black Ark Corsairs.

A new hydra has been confirmed on Warseer. No news on whether it's plastic, but it's said to be way better than the current one.

The photo also refers to them as Dark Ark corsairs so the book might be focusing on the Dark Ark armies instead of a more traditional land based force.

Which might be an interesting change for the list.

Wonder if there will be a plastic Hydra? :-)

I've been waiting for these for a long, long time... I believe "yoink" will be the expression when they hit the local shelves ;-)

Gitteau, Corsairs have been pirates since being mentioned in the Man'O'War fluff and were introduced as a WFB troop type after that :-) The GW Dark Elves have had a long and dishonourable history of piracy, slave raiding and reaving!

Ok, now I realize that it's not a cut off cavlary model at all, just a Corsair from the regiment.

excellent job! Dark Elves now look as good as ages ago (3rd ed.). Have to buy them. New corsairs are fantastic. I wish they do new sculpts for witches, because nowadays they look very bad.

Have they changed the photos? I don't see any cavalry, cutoff or otherwise.

It sucks they had to devalue the old metal Corsairs by introducing a new weapon, seems they could have come up with a new unit just as easily. Also disappointing to see them jumping on the pirate fad (at least there are no tri-cornered hats or bandannas to be seen, at least so far), especially so late in the game.

That mindflayer-ish head on the Corsair Standard is a new look. I like it.

What's the cavalry model cut off in the photo next to the Corsair with two hand weapons? It's armour looks too heavy to be a Dark Rider. They're keeping Cold Ones too...it's mentioned in the text above the Corsair regiment. Are Dark Elves getting heavy cav? Could just be a character model.
