There's a picture of a bald Arbitrator woman in the book, she's dressed in leather. That + the Arco-Flagellant in the book are probably blending in peoples' heads when they see this image.

I think it was a metal tentacle, sort of. Anyway, rest of the figure is different, and who cares anyway? I'm totally cool with all the mutual influences flying around, at least it helps ensuring figures from different companies can be used together.

Most likely. I seem to recall a lot of similar design elements.

Sure it wasn't a tentacle? I remember quite a few "women with tentacle" sketches he did as well. :-)

Is it just me or is Live Wire a rather bad rip off of GW’s Arco-Flagellants?

It has similar arms but that really seems to be about it,

Common visual elements don't mean that people are ripping GW off. Unless a mini is a direct reproduction of something then its not a "rip-off".

The arco-flagelant thing is pure coincidence as I highly doubt Andy has ever seen one! The red kink suit and iron cross are my additions so you can blame me I suppose. This model has a great story. About a year ago when we were kicking around ideas for the game in one of our conference calls, Andy starts going on about giant lice and barbed wire monsters. John and I looked at each other like "huh?" Anyway, Andy seemed pretty fixated on the idea so finally I said, okay, we can do a barbed wire monster but it has to be a really hot Frau in leather. The barbed wire became organic steel and it ended up sprouting out of her hands and head instead of everywhere. We had tons of fun with this one. The demo game at Salute put on by Paul Grace and Al Osborne with the giant sub locked in ice was based on the Live Wire storyline.

Cheers Zac,

Thanks for the larger picture.

Looks as though my orks are going to get a proper orky dreadnought at last.

Sure, but that's ok for me, this industry thrives on reworking succesful designs from other sources. GW itself is hardly innocent. Anyway, I wouldn't say it's a "bad" miniature, merely an average one.
