    Privateer Press have announced the Formula P3 Grandmaster Painting Competition.

    From their website:

    Enter the Privateer Press Painting Contest at Gen Con Indy 2008 and Compete to Win Cash Prizes. As announced in No Quarter #16, the official Privateer Press painting contest will be held again at Gen Con Indy this year. This is your chance to win a coveted Skully trophy, show your skills as a master painter, and compete to take home the grand prize of $1,000.

    I applaud their encouragement of the hobby, but I really dislike the P3 paints.

    I dont dislike P3 - I just dont think its the end all be all of paints. But some of the colors they carry have a place in my paints because they are one less color to mix up

    Its just them using the event to help promote their paint range. I can’t imagine they have any way of determining what paints you used :-)

    I can’t find any mention of them wanting you to use their paints in the competition rules, either. It is hard enough to make sure none of the pieces on a model is from a 3rd party manufacturer ;)

    Hehe, believe me, you can win Gold using only Vallejo. Though this year I’ll use some P3, they really work for me.
    I already started out two entries though last year at this stage I thought about entering 4 (entered one) and I am much busier this year!
