Wow, very cool. I might have to pick these up - probably won’t do anything with them because the game is dead locally - but they could be cool for some homebrew rules or for RPGs.

The Black Númenóreans are a little OTT I think. They look too much like Ringwraiths. It’s true that some of the Black Númenóreans became Ringwraiths, but I think it would have been more interesting if they had just sculpted them as evil “High Men” instead of monstrosities.

ps. It’s a shame the game is cumbersome at anything above skirmish level.

pps. GW you missed the accents on the ú and ó!

    Doc says:

So the “Mouth of Sauron” is a “fallen” Black Númenórean??

Tim - I’ve been talking with some of the locals; we are looking at a LotR revival in the GVRD - late summer!

I think Tolkien wrote a letter to a colleague to that effect.

    …in the GVRD

    You mean Metro Vancouver? :)

    Marauder says:

Doc - I’ll keep my eye open for that.

Trent - Maybe we should do some homebrew army lists for CAoR since GW has no interest in providing mass combat rules (at this scale), despite an attempt at it in Alamo.

    Trent McCaffrey says:

I should play a game of CAoR first (with my thousands of points of Rackham stuff) before I consider using it for homebrew conversion. :D

    Marauder says:

Sure not a problem. But then again your Cynwall book isn’t going to be out for a long time - and those PDF lists are really just about the same as the “Ravening Hordes” were.

    Trent McCaffrey says:

I’m sure it would take many games with the CAoR PDF lists to really break them, so that’s ok. They’ll work fine as long as we’re not playing tourney games with them. LOTR here I come (again)!

    Keirof says:

Getting back to the minis from the dread topic of CAoR, these are not quite what I would have expected from my years of devouring Tolkien. I thought they would be, I don’t know, more subtle in their nascent evilness. These are almost a caricature of evil. They remind me of some of the Champions of Chaos warriors from the early 80’s.
