I like the paintjobs; it's the sculpts that aren't the greatest. I'm still psyched on my Dirz army, though.

It is consistent across all the models which wasn't the case with the mould lines in some of the AT-43 figs I have... I still think it is a design issue.

Looks like a mold line to me, fairly standard for PPP. On the other hand those paint jobs are pretty decent. I can understand R specifying that they are production paint jobs as I saw them a few days ago and thought that their studio painters must be getting lazy :-)

I like the Kayl Kartan sculpt as well, I'll wait to see what he looks like in plastic though... Maybe they will "Legend" him as well...

Is that a mold line on the head of all the crossbowmen?

IIRC they all wear masks and that is probably what you are seeing.

Is that a mold line on the head of all the crossbowmen?
If so I think that is a bit of a bad showing for R.
Well at least it would show honesty on their part. "he, what you see is what you get"

It does look good. If a little static.

To be fair, the four original ones were also a little static. And the same could be said about most Rackham models in crazy detailed armors, so I assume it might be some constraint from the chosen alloys. Like if it retains insanely fine details, it's not so good for dynamic, complex shapes, and vice versa.

Still it fits these particular models perfectly in my opinion. They don't care for subtlety, they're the blunt objects of the Ophidian army.

I think having the same head is perfect for one reason - they are CLONES! How else to represent at a glance they are all the same

Agree the new Apostate could look good alongside the Bregan and the others. But it is hard to say. The size could be very different. I have all the others and they were a lot smaller than I thought they were going to be...even Bregan, who is much smaller and slighter than the terminator he looks in the photos. I was very surprised.

Agree on the new Apostate - he'll look good alongside the other four (including Bregan). The PPP clones are OK, but I don't care for the gray skin tones. I think I'll be sticking with my metal clones/crossbowmen. If I'm going to repaint them, I'd prefer the ones I have to buying new ones. I'll definitely be getting the new PPP Daysatis clones (which look pretty sweet IMO).

The same heads for everything? In this day and age? That's a bit dubious in my view.

Those Dirz look really good for prepaints. I think they're some of the best prepaints in the hobby. Interesting that they've made it explicit that the Dirz are not "Studio" painted. That's probably in reaction to complaints of misleading previews in the past.
