"it may be a bit too little a bit too late for an aweful lot of rackham hobbyists. im glad they have seen the light and decided to keep producing the old stuff"

I tried to stay out of the various debates on this site and others regarding the future of Confrontation, since I don't have an sort of investment in the game. But I thought I read in various press releases last year and earlier this year that they always were planning on bringing back the metal miniatures. Or was I just imaging that?

Here's one such news item:

it may be a bit too little a bit too late for an aweful lot of rackham hobbyists. im glad they have seen the light and decided to keep producing the old stuff, i dont like how limited its going to be. (just how limited is limited i wonder) but something is better than nothing and i cant wait til we see even a trickle of new metal minis coming in. its one out of two major mistakes rectified, i wonder how long before they try to bring C3 back and pretend it was there intention all along ;)

good news

Count me excited. For any nay-sayers, isn't this exactly what we've been asking for? (aside from a reissue of the Con3 ruleset.)

I hope this gives a channel to offer unassembled options for the various AT-43 vehicles.

I know I can repaint, but it's easier to start from scratch ; )

Isn’t this announcement also saying that whatever was sold on Fire Industries website is now going to be available only through Rackham or FFG online stores

I think that if that was the case they would be more explicit about it

if miniatures from the Rackham Legends range will only be cast in limited numbers, isn’t that announcement saying they are discontinuing the existing metal range

I think that you are reading between the lines too much

Isn't this announcement also saying that whatever was sold on Fire Industries website is now going to be available only through Rackham or FFG online stores?

Also (but maybe it's just me being confused), if the whole existing metal range enters the Rackham Legends range (which I thought had already been done back when FFG announced Rackham Legends), and if miniatures from the Rackham Legends range will only be cast in limited numbers, isn't that announcement saying they are discontinuing the existing metal range?

I understand the reasoning behind being only available through FFG and Rackham. It sort of like how the Dire Troll Mauler Extreme and Warp Wolf Extreme are sold exclusively through PP's online shop. The low production runs will not allow them to wholesale it to game shops to give them a decent markup let a lone making a decent profit for FFG and Rackham.

i could foresee that changing if consumer demand for the metals reach a certain threshold that warrants regular distribution.

The main thing for me is that the option is there. I can now order metal versions of all my incarnates and paint them up to my liking and not worry too much about my rank and file models.

Metal AT-43 models???/ Cool. Got to get some for my Red Blok characters.

This news looked great right up until I read that these would only be available through Rackham and FFG web sales. I would really prefer to support my LGS.
