  • More Infinity updates coming soon

The Infinity news continues today with word from Corvus Belli that there will be more Infinity news and previews as they work towards releasing the next Infinity book.

    From their website:

Month by month, update by update, we will be offering you previews of the following Infinity book. You can download the rules and the profiles of the new troops and the new armies that you will be discovering, some of them with new weapons, new equipment, and with special skills and different rules. New tactics, resources, greater flexibility in the game and, of course, more spectacle.

I wish they would focus on releasing miniatures for the rest of the options from the first book before moving on to a second one. Or at least give us a weapons pack for each faction to make conversions easier. I’m a little tired of using proxy figs for stuff that has yet to be released.

    redstripe (Nick) says:

There are complete units not represented by miniatures, as yet. Still, I’m very much looking forward to this new book. I have found Infinity to be very enjoyable. If they developed some kind of campaign system in the new book, I would be very well pleased.

The wording on their other announcements makes it sound as if the ranges are done so perhaps there are new releases in the pipeline?

They’re close to being done, but there are still some fairly big holes to fill.

I do like that they are moving the fluff forward, and updating old sculpts.

I could complain about there being 5 different Kum troopers, and only two Highlanders, but..

    Oh wait, I just did : (

I quite taken by the looks of this game, I have a bit of a snag though - there aren’t any store in my province that carry this stuff. I could ask them to special order them, but they usually have trouble getting special orders in…

I know there are a bunch of websites in the US that carry Infinity; any recommendations?

    Zac says:

What distributor does your game store use? We can get them ordered in regularly from BC.

    green_lumux says:

I’m not sure… I’ll have to ask them. I know they had a really tough time getting in Privateer Press’ merchandise up until recently… They have a new distributer for that now though, so maybe it won’t be a problem.

Do you know what the name of the distributer in BC is?

    grimbergen says:

@green_lumux: thewarstore.com also ships to Canada, $10 USD base, so I’m not sure if that’s worth it. But the loonie has been gaining quite a lot against the dollar recently hasn’t it?

    green_lumux says:

thats pretty good for shipping; I’ve found that a lot of us stores and ebay sellers have been putting ridiculous shipping on their merch…

(i’ve had some ebay stores quote like 14 bucks shipping on one blister… and up from there for multiple items, or 24-28 bucks for larger action figures… thats just piracy.)

I’ve never ordered from them before, they look quite good though! have you used them a lot?

Yes, the stronger dollar is nice (i’m kicking myself for not making a ton of orders when it was worth 1.35 US before christmas :s ), not having to pay 13% sales tax on the order is a bonus too!

    Psychotic Storm says:

I would have to say one should first wait for the second book to be released before starting complaining that not everything is released ectr ectr.

    nanite says:

The point was I was trying not to complain.

Oh and see if you’re store can get in touch with Warpath Games. They’ve picked up Infinity, and supply my LGS:

    grimbergen says:

thewarstore.com is a good shop — I haven’t ordered from him in about 2 years, as we now have a local store i’m trying to support. However, if you search TGN you can find news about the store and also general positive comments about Neal, the owner (such as when they took over the battlewagonbitz service).
