I asked that this not turn into a rant about Rackham.

Comments are now closed and will be for future Rackham news items so people can calm down.

I have had to delete one comment because of the nature of the material in it

It is just a game, people. If you don't like it, move onto something else. You should not compare C2 to CAoR, they are actually different in game play and audience.

I don't know, Zac. Maybe you should just close commenting for the Rackham news. Whether it's previews of upcoming PPP, distribution, rules, etc., you're bound to have the comments section turn into a flamewar or get filled with lots of comments expressing negatives.

You know as well as I there are plenty of places on the WWW where you can tear Rackham a new one for their PPP and other changes.

I guess for PPP the conf stuff is not bad (but from what i see very overpriced) but people are commenting on a wider scale - which is why you are seeing a lot of negative statements.

I don't want to see every post about new Confrontation figures devolve into a discussion about how they suck compared to the old figs.

People should feel free to complain about the sculpts if they want to but lets please try to keep the discussion away from critiques of Rackham's new direction.

If you like rich fantasy skirmish games with great sculpts then there are alternatives but we know that Rackham isn't in that business anymore.

I'm not getting a POed vibe on confrontation at all, here or on other sites. That was the case for a while back there but now I am getting the feeling that the vast majority of long time players are just stunned in a resigned fashion at the terrible quality of the new minis (and to a lesser degree the rules).

They are bad, even the most dire Rackham fanboy is skirting straitjacket territory to claim that many of the PPP figs for Conf are of even average sculpt and pose quality, especially compared to what they used to be. I guess for PPP the conf stuff is not bad (but from what i see very overpriced) but people are commenting on a wider scale - which is why you are seeing a lot of negative statements.

It's not just 'sour grapes' or anything like that, it's the simple fact that when you line up the majority of the new conf stuff against say even comparable GW minis, they look bad - and when you line them up against old conf minis, they look terrible. I don't think it's a personal issue as much as people just stating opinions and those opinions happen to be a negative consensus for obvious reasons.

Nope, it’s your opinion that is boring and predictable. Ours are insightful and illuminating.

Totally unacceptable. Don't post this sort of thing again

It’s very tiresome to be told that your opinions are suddenly invalid because your time has come and gone.

No-one said that, Don't read too much into what people post

I guess we can also expect all the old C2/3 fans to keep grumbling with each new preview. Guys - accept it - C2/3 is over and its not coming back.

Please don't stir other people up.

I am really started to get tired of how this subject gets people POed. Lets all start to act a little more maturely when discussing the issue

If we can't discuss Confrontation in a civil manner then I will begin to lock comments on all of the confronation topics in the future.

Its a **game** people. No need to get this worked up

Nope, it's your opinion that is boring and predictable. Ours are insightful and illuminating.

It's very tiresome to be told that your opinions are suddenly invalid because your time has come and gone. I have opinions on all sorts of models that correspond to games I don't play, and will continue to voice them. I would also note that almost all of the "old guard" had something complimentary to say about at least half of the models in this preview.

Nice to see some more previews. Glad to see they are trucking along with the CoaR development. I wonder how many armies R will get out this year?

I guess we can also expect all the old C2/3 fans to keep grumbling with each new preview. Guys - accept it - C2/3 is over and its not coming back. Time to move on to Helldorado/Alkemy/Anima Tactics.

The Dasyatis looks cool, but the head almost makes it look like a Nemesis clone to me. Also, does it have three arms or is that just me?

People on the French board pointed out that it might be a Nefarius too. Apparently the game designer at the con mentioned "Dasyatis" as a name though.

I've been a supporter of Rackham since C2. I've been patient so far with Rackham's attempts to do something with Confrontation. I can understand their move to plastic. But, lordy, many of these PPP miniatures are just foul in my mind.

I got the feeling I'm gonna be playing some Helldorado soon.
