Interesting that he said that plastic miniatures are more likely to have paint chip. I find the opposite to be true, especially if you’re using an acrylic paint which most miniature painters do.

I think you are right from a mechanical standpoint. The paint layer is less likely to chip if the material underneath absorbs shocks the model might receive, which plastic does in a much larger extent than pewter. On the other hand I'm under the impression that gamers take less care about their plastic models and happily shove them in their bags when they're done with them. Perhaps there's a higher "chipping rate" on plastic models due to gamers' behavior? :)

Aside from that, all very intriguing.

I like their "take it or leave it" attitude regarding the theme & miniatures and willingness to accept that because of those their audience may be smaller. Too many companies try to please everyone.

(Being in Japan this is just a suggestion for one of you enterprising young Americans.) If one of you were to organize something along the lines of what Mr. Tisdel did back in the early days of Confrontation I bet you could speed up the presence of tournaments in North America. Just by his website he created a lot of traction for Confrontation in the US. (Back when I lived in the US.)

I think player input in the evolving future of a game is very interesting - and I think that it probably hasn't been done well since the L5R card game years ago. Every other one, I think, has paled.

Sadly.

I too wish that the stuff he's talking about - tourneys and tourney seasons - would get some US traction, but right now we can't even get the cards in English.

Some really good ideas in there. It's unfortunate that they seem so geared toward tournaments, though. This leads me to believe that it's only Europeans that will be impacting the storyline and getting the single models. Hopefully I'm wrong about that.

Do players even care about global campaigns and otherwise changing storylines through gameplay? I often feel that I'm in the minority for finding that sort of stuff interesting. I know that AT-43 players (yes, I can always bring it back to Rackham. it's my Kevin Bacon) were either indifferent or oddly hostile toward the idea that every game (supposedly) contributed to deciding the fate of Damocles.

English cards at the end of the month via download?

My bad, that's 'within the next month'. I'll ask Zac to edit to avoid confusion.
Still a very good news though :)

Great, great responses. The description of playing with metal minis, I think, is a feeling a lot of us players have. It is difficult to describe but there is a difference between playing with metal and playing with plastic.

Anyhow, cheers. I really enjoy the Hell Dorado miniatures. Keep up the great work.

Excellent answers, I like tha fact that they are willing to narrow their market rather than change their concept, hope this doesnt affect them commercially, or rahter, hope that they are prepared for it.

Excellent again, cant wait to try it out.
