  • AT-43 Nina Zero rules preview

    Rackham continues to provide beta versions of rules/units they plan to introduce in Operation: Frostbite in the latest issue of its Cry Havoc Online newsletter. This time a Therian hero Nina Zero is previewed. Note, their appears to be a mistake in the heroic pilot ability, substituting Jindo-un for Babylon Zero and Saint Anuman for Nina Zero could be what was intended.

    The game designers at studio Rackham are offering you to test the profile and the rules of Nina Zero, a Therian hero for Operation: Frostbite. Nina Zero is played with the miniature of a Bane Goliath. Babylon Zero, Nina Zero´s armored fighting vehicle, is an Incubus Golgoth.

    Unit formation

    Nina Zero can be the officer of any bane goliath unit.
    Contrary to normal officers, she is does not replace a fighter but she is added to the unit. Her cost is added to that of the unit.
    Babylon Zero is a unit of her own.
    In both cases, she is an overseer omicron and has the same characteristics and routines as an overseer omicron.

    Recruiting a unit

    Nina Zero: + 150 A.P.
    Babylon Zero: 475 A.P.

    Medium nucleus cannon 2.0: Babylon Zero can benefit from the “Sniper” ability:
    • This ability can only be used if the fighter doesn´t move at all during his activation;
    • Cover and fighters caught in the zone of fire are ignored;
    • This ability cannot be used in “Overwatch!”;
    • The player chooses the target of each impact among the visible fighters of the targeted unit. If the target is an armored fighting vehicle, the player chooses the location of each impact.
    • On top of that, the Rate of attack/Re-roll of the Medium nucleus cannon 2.0 becomes 1/1.

    Lady in red: A company including Nina Zero or Babylon Zero can include a Red Blok unit. The chosen unit fills one of the slots of the company´s platoon pattern.

    Heroic pilot: When Jindo-un is destroyed the miniature representing Saint Anuman on foot is deployed where his machine stood. He constitutes a new unit but can join a friendly unit (see AT-43: The Rulebook, p.77).

    Routine

    Nina Zero and Babylon Zero have access to the following routine in addition to those they have access to as overseers.

    Zero Fire (1 LP): The overseer´s shots benefit from the following rules.
    • Cover and fighters caught in the zone of fire are ignored;
    • The player chooses the target of each impact among the visible fighters of the targeted unit. If the target is an armored fighting vehicle, the player chooses the location of each impact.

      i think it is a mistake, a wrong cut and copy. If babylon is destroyed you have nina zero, something like that.

      nina zero is a good boss and a good solution with the uprising number of big vehicule. COMBO !!

      Therian got a good solution against armored foes. not as good as a rocket launcher with -2PS but the sniper abilities for a chosen troop is ok : if she is a commander.

      You take nina zero,and a baal golgoth (>1000PA) with accelerated particules and the sniper routines : crack!!
      you can easily destroy 6 PS in one shot of the baal, with a little help ofthe luck. Say bye bye to fire crawler . dotch yaga can only be hurt with a 5+

      confirmed in the french version:

      1) if incube babylon zero is destroyed , nina zero eject on the same place

      2) the special routine can only be used for the officer, not the full section
