Oops! My bad - In my original post I thought one of the spears was actually just a piece of sprue. That'll teach me!

As for the price point. Well, they may be cheaper than WFB plastics, but they still charge the same for their plastic horsemen as many other manufacturers charge for metals.... But lets not derail this into yet another rant against GW prices. :)

Well it does explain the price point. The 40K and WFB kits are much more expensive because you get a ton of additional bitz in them. The LotR minis are fairly basic with no extras to keep the price down

Did GW ever give an official reason for why they never include extra bitz/weapons? These sculpts are so fragile and swords/spears are always breaking.

It looks to me like you can have three with spears and and an extra one with a bow (beyond the two sculpted bowmen) so that makes six on the sprue.

You can have the banner and two spears + three bowmen OR three spears and three bowmen (I think that's it, I only had a quick look)

Despite what a few people said on the other thread I actually quite like LOTR, I find the minis more difficult to paint due to the more 'realistic' proportions but like them anyway and the game play is pretty good too. It's got a few things I don't like but then I could say that about most games I play.

IMHO GW make good minis - not always to my tastes but the plastic kits in particular give you lots of stuff to mess about with.

Hmm. So looking at that Harad Raiders sprue it looks like 25% of your force comes equipped with a banner.... not good. The banner should have been made optional on the sprue and with a 4th spear to swap in as the more normal option.

Someone obviously wasn't thinking clearly when they planned that sprue! Either that, or didn't care.
