Great review.

I've got several minis from Hydra - Matt even sent me a free Robot along with a mini when he missed something out from my order - absolutely TOP SERVICE!

:-D

I've found them to be really clean sculpts with minimal mould lines.

I encountered the same issue with gluing. My solution was giving the models a quick clean with a wet wipe (baby wipe - or whatever they're called in your region) to make sure I removed any residue left over from the casting process and freeing agent in the mould. It seemed to do the trick and they hold together with superglue easily enough after that quick treatment.

I've trimmed the intregral base and mounted them onto lipped bases (a first use of these bases for me).

I'm still in the process of painting them - I'll be sending shots over to hydra once they're done (just in case he wants to use them in his gallery).

I'd can't recommend Hydra enough if you're looking for retro minis at this scale.

I got some of these recently, they are lovely models.
I managed to assemble by large robots with just superglue :)

To address your 'cons' individually; Cost is a subjective matter, I think £6.00 for a large robot of this size or £2.50 for a 46mm one is very reasonable and much less than many individual 28mm figures available.

I like integral bases, tabs and 'slottas' are the work of the devil.

I want a limited number of poses for a unit of robots, they're robots after all. Producing many variants just makes me want a unit in each pose and ends up costing me a fortune :(

Good review!

Thank you for the great review. I really like the look of these models and intend to get some as soon as some cash frees up.
